Mobility Plus projects from 2026 – call for proposals

Based on the concluded bilateral agreements on scientific cooperation, a call for Mobility Plus project (MPP) proposals with the following foreign partner organisations of the CAS is open according to the schedule below. The implementation period for approved projects will begin on 1 January 2026.

A preview of the project proposal form is available here:

Project proposals must be submitted in either Czech or English via the KIS application and subsequently sent via the CAS data mailbox (ID fr6adt5) before the specified deadline. Proposals submitted in any other way will be rejected for formal reasons.

More details on the conditions for submitting project proposals can be found in the relevant calls below:

Mobility Plus projects (MPP)

CALL (25 June – 15 September 2025):

Belgium – Fund for Scientific Research-FNRS (FNRS)

Implementation period: 2026–2028
The terms and conditions (call) for submitting project proposals can be found here.

France – Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS)
Implementation period: 2026–2027

! Due to changes on the part of the foreign partner, this call for proposals, which was originally linked to the CNRS International Emerging Action (IEA) activity, has been modified. The CNRS has decided not to announce this activity this year. Therefore, in order to submit a proposal, it is necessary to provide a letter from the French partner (in the form of a "Letter of Intent") confirming their agreement with the wording of the joint project and the specific contribution of the French team to its implementation. The letter should also include the method and amount of funding for the French team from any sources on the French side. An electronic version of this letter will be attached to the project proposal when it is submitted to the databox. The deadline for submitting these project proposals has been extended to 24 September 2025. The terms and conditions (call) for submitting project proposals can be found here.

For this year, the CNRS maintains the International Research Networks (IRN) and International Research Projects (IRP) activities. However, these are not funded from the Mobility Plus programme budget.

More information on these programmes (including the cancelled IEA) can be found at this link.

Running projects with CNRS in the period 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 will be implemented without any changes.

MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund

Following the cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (CAS), the IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) within the MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund, a call for joint project proposals is open from 16 September to 16 December 2025. The call is open to all scientific disciplines.

No online information session for those interested in collaborating with MIT and receiving support from the Fund is planned for this year. Please use this link to see the recording of last year’s online session.

The program that was created in 2021 is a collaboration between MIT, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS, and its subsidiary IOCB Tech. It is now funded by the IOCB Tech Foundation, which contributes $100,000 per year to the program. The fund supports 3 to 5 new collaborations each year between scientists from CAS research institutes and universities in the Czech Republic and MIT partners, up to $25,000, with funding available to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with working meetings and research internships. Successful applicants will be decided by April of the following year and the first trips will be available in June 2026.

For further information, please visit the MIT website or the CAS website.
