
Launch of 10th SEA-Europe JFS Call 2027/2029

Based on the agreement of the participating organisations, the upcoming call for projects for the 2027–2029 period is focused on two thematic areas:
- New materials and green transition
- Climate resilient, smart agriculture using AI and IoT
The condition for submitting a joint project proposal is the formation of a consortium of at least three scientific teams from the countries involved in the SEA-Europe JFS. The deadline for project proposal submission is 31 March 2026.
The conditions of financial support are governed by the national rules of the partner organizations. Each partner organisation covers only the costs of the national part of the winning projects. In the case of the Czech Republic, the eligible applicants for financial support are the CAS institutes. The maximum total amount that the CAS will support a successful team is EUR 80 000 for the entire duration of the project (i.e. 36 months). A total amount of EUR 240 000 is earmarked for the call.

Project implementation on the SEA-Europe JFS side may begin as early as December 2026, while financial spending on the CAS side is possible from January 2027.
The apliacant is required to complete and submit two documents to fully apply for the project funding as follows:
- to submit project proopsal via the SEA-Europe JFS,by 31 March 2026 (12:00 noon CET / 5:00 pm Jakarta/Bagkok time),
- to fill in the„Project Proposal Details“form and send it to the National Focal Point via the e-mail address kresl@kav.cas.cz, by 2 February 2026 (23:59 CET).

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
